Read the Full StoryThe West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office is comprised of the Administration, Civil,
Criminal and Prevention divisions.
Civil Division
The West Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Department Civil and Tax Department is responsible for receiving and serving all civil and criminal papers, receiving and executing all Writs of Garnishments and Seizure and Sales. In a six month period, approximately 1,150 papers are received and served. This number does not include the service of Jury Subpoena's which is also included in the work of the Civil Department.
The Tax Department is responsible for the collection of over $19,000,000.00 and for the disbursement of these funds to the other governmental bodies.
The Civil Department is supervised by Chief Civil Deputy Major Charlene N. Rachal, and assisted by Lt. Lena Richardson, Lt. Diane Baker, and Cpl. Mary Jones.
Sgt Rene’ Fruge’ serves in the role of process server.
Other duties of this department are the collections of fines and fees for defendants sentenced in criminal court.
The West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office is a diverse organization of professionals, working together to protect the lives and property of all citizens. Law enforcement, corrections, emergency protection, communications, drug awareness, community relations and provide school resources are all important to maintaining West Feliciana Parish's quality of life.
